Shouldn't we be going all out to sign the stars of Man City? That is what the owners feel will get the juices flowing, after all.

I remember the same sort of thing with Goddard.

Also remember Spurs being the red top darlings back then but we're not allowed to mentioned they kicked all the silliness off for foreign signings etc.

I agree.

I remember buying the Evening News at a paper stall in Mare Street in 1979 and reading that we had signed Parkes for £500,000, a record for a goalie at that time.

No one saw that coming.

mr west ham will be our leading scorer for two decades in a row.
2020-2029 he'll score 11 penalties.

Re: The sign Sander Berge at all costs thread
I don’t know why they always announce to all and sundry that they are pursuing various players, who, invariably, end up being signed by someone else.

Oh for a return to the days of Lyall who only announced a player when the dotted line had been signed upon!

I think you're all being unfair to our owners. You don't know what expenses they have. Crystal panthers don't come cheap you know.

Re: The sign Sander Berge at all costs thread
The urgency of a couple of 21 to 24 yo box to box midfielders who can win balls and control games has been known for a long long time.
The players should have been identified and ready to sign on Jan 1.
It’s the 12th and nothing has happened.
Same old same old.
